When purchasing a ring, it is important to get the right size. The most common size for women is in the 5 to 7 range but can vary depending on the day. The best way to determine the correct size is by using a plastic ring sizer on the intended finger. If you are purchasing the ring as a gift, or do not have access to a sizer, then a chart will also work. Using a ring that you know fits, you can place it on a paper chart with ring sizes to find the correct size. Avoid using strips of paper or even string to measure a finger. They may twist causing the results to be inaccurate. The best time of day to measure for a ring is in the evening. Be sure that the finger is warm; a cold finger will be smaller. Rings can be resized at a later time to accommodate size changes.

Silver can be cleaned with warm soapy water. It should not tarnish; however, exposure to chemicals such as chlorine should be avoided. Chemically treated shining cloths may be used to revitalize dull silver rings.
